Puppy Pudding!

The puppies are now eating their cottage cheese pudding, and depending less on Whitney. They are really starting to run around, play, wrestle, and bark. They all ran up to me when I came in the room for the first time yesterday. They are SO cute and sweet.
They are doing great with their potty training, going only on the newspaper and peepee pads now.
I trimmed their little toe nails and filed them down. I'll need to trim the hair around their eyes next week. They are already getting used to being handled all over.
They continue to get lots of love from the boys and me, and in the next few weeks, they can begin to receive visitors.

Of course! Whitney eating the puppy pudding and the puppies nursing!

Pups 3 weeks old

Luke- the daddy
Leia , Whitney's mom
Cookie time!!!!!
(I had to draw some pants on Kalin as he was in his pajamas!)

Life in puppy world is changing fast! The puppies are learning to walk, wrestle, wag their tails, and yelp.
The other morning, we found all of the puppies scattered around the nursery instead of inside their whelping box! They had all climbed out! We knew it was time to take out the whelping box and put in the bigger fence.
They can now practice walking, and can start potty training! It is amazing to me how the puppies potty train themselves as soon as they are able to walk. The instinct not to mess up their nest kicks in and they waddle out of their bed to the potty pads. Simply amazing!
Whitney will start getting a break from the intense post-natal demands of the puppies as they start to move around, potty themselves, and they will begin eating a cottage cheese pudding to help supplement Whitney's milk, so that will take some strain off of her... She is still regularly eating a whole chicken every couple of days, plus yogurt, kibble, and scrambled eggs for breakfast!
The pups still need to stay warm so they will be in the nursery for a few more weeks. Watching the puppies develop is amazing!
